PLUS ÇA CHANGE, AGAIN

A short note.

On the 15th October 1966, the Black Panther Party for Self Defence (later to be called simply the Black Panther Party), was founded in Oakland, California by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale. The organisation the organization initially set forth a doctrine calling primarily for the protection of African American neighbourhoods from police brutality.

Thirty nine years later, on the 15th October 2005 the National Socialist Movement (NSM) and all American Neo-Nazi organisation planned a march to protest against attacks on whites by African American gangs in the North End of Toledo, Ohio. The march turned into a riot, with looting and burning of local shops and establishments in the neighbourhood. The focus of the riot was of course between the police and the African-American local citizens. The Neo-Nazi march just triggered the event.
